Welcome to the Root PTA!

Our mission is to help Root be a place where all children can learn and thrive. Our goals this year (2026-2027) are to improve parental and teacher engagement, and to increase transparency as it relates to the PTA.

We are a local group, comprised of Root parents/guardians, teachers, staff and community partners, and a part of the PTA North Carolina Congress.

Meet the Teacher (1st - 5th grades) - Drop in to meet your teacher on Friday, August 21 - 10 am to 12 pm. Teacher assignments will be emailed the week of August 17.
Kindergarten Popsicles on the Playground - Meet other incoming kindergarteners and their families on the Root track on Sunday, August 23 at 3 pm.
First Day of School (1st - 5th grades) - Monday, August 24 - Kick-off a great year!
Kindergarten staggered entry days - August 24-August 27 - Letters with your assigned staggered entry date were provided at Kindergarten orientation and will be mailed in the next week.
Meet the Teacher (Kindergarten) - Friday, August 28, 2 pm to 3 pm. Drop in to meet your new teacher! Teacher assignments will be provided upon arrival.
